Combination Types
Some damage types are combinations of other types. For instance, Fusion is both Fusion itself and Fire.
In this case, the character inflicting the damage may select which type applies when both benefiting and suffering type-based effects. For instance:
- Blaze casts Fusion Bomb (aw std lr; ends all life on the planet)
- As Fusion damage, it is also Fire damage
- Since she is gaining +50% Fire damage, she may choose to apply this to the spell
- The enemy has 50% fire resistance, so for that aspect, she chooses to apply Fusion instead, ignoring the Fire damage penalty
- If she were somehow gaining +50% Fusion and +50% Fire from the an effect, she could only choose one aspect, and thus gain a maximum of +50% damage. (If they were separate, she could gain both)
Internal Damage
Internal is a special damage descriptor (can be applied separately from type) that means the following:
- It originates within the target, not from outside
- Therefore, it necessarily bypasses armor, shields, parrying weapons, etc
- Thus, it cannot be parried, dodged, blocked, or soaked
- However, it can be resisted or absorbed
